NPC Executive Meeting Held in Kathmandu

The Executive Committee met in Boudha, Kathmandu on 29 May 2011 to discuss over the work-related 'challenges' imposed by political instability in the country. Organizing National championship by incorporating 'best athletes' from different regions of the country in order to prepare for participation in London 2012 Paralympic Games was also one of the major agendas that were discussed during the meeting.

Members of the Executive Committee also discussed on the required budget, and explored the possible means to manage such budget in order to participate London 2012 Paralympic Games.

Furthermore, the meeting recognized the athletes for the demonstration of enthusiasm and performance, and officials for their hard work and dedication during 2010 Asian Para Games held in GZ, China.

"Despite very little resources, I'm proud of Nepali athletes and NPC officials who worked hard to make this historic participation. This is an instance that draws a bright optimism in Paralympic Sports in Nepal", Said Mr. Pashupati Parajuli, Secretary General of National Paralympic Committee Nepal. Mr. Parajuli further emphasized on the need of resources to align with the enthusism of athletes and effeciency of officials. "We are looking forward to work closely with IPC to draw their interest in working together with us in resolving the resource crises, and welcome any internal or external organization to support NPC Nepal", said Mr. Parajuli.

The meeting furthermore discussed on enhancing NPC Nepal's relation with the newly formed government.

During the meeting, another significant decision made was that Secretary General, Mr. Pashupati Parajuli is decided to lead Nepal's Delegation as Chef De Mission in London 2012 Paralympic Games.

NPC President Mr. Surendra Bahadur Basnyat expressed his contentment over success of the meeting. "We welcome any interested organization, individual, or donors to support our quest of successful participation in London 2012 Paralympic Games", Mr. Basnyat added.

At the the meeting life members of NPC Nepal Mr. Rajendra Adhikari and Mr. Umesh Bakhrel were also  attehded the meeting.
